Teresia Rafael Olemako is a lecturer in the Department of Wildlife Management and Dean of Students (DOS) at the College of African Wildlife Management, Mweka, under Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, Tanzania
Teresia is a social scientist by profession specializing in Community conservation and rural development, Natural resources management and governance, Ecotourism and Tourism, Conservation enterprise planning and management, Participatory planning approaches (Participatory Rural Appraisal – PRA, Rapid Rural Appraisal – RRA), Participatory Poverty Assessment methodologies and Sustainable livelihoods approaches to poverty.
Teresia received her Advanced Diploma in Community Development at Community Development Training Institute – Tengeru, Tanzania and joined Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA) as Community Conservation Warden at TANAPA Headquarters in 1997. Teresia pursued Postgraduate Diploma in Wildlife Management in 2001/2002 and she was then transferred to work as Head of Community Conservation department at Serengeti national park. Later in 2004, she resigned to work with TANAPA to continue with further studies. Teresia completed her MSc Degree in Community Economic Development from Southern New Hampshire University, USA in 2005 and joined Mweka college as a Lecturer in the same year
