Dr. Abiud Kaswamila - Short Biographical sketch
 

Dr. Abiud Kaswamila is a Senior Lecturer specialized in Land-Use Planning and Management in protected area bio-networks. In 1991 he received his BA (Hons) degree in Land-Use Planning and Environmental studies at the University of Dar es Salaam. He then joined Mlingano Agricultural Research Institute (Tanga) as an Agricultural Research 0fficer. Between 1993 and 1995, Dr. Kaswamila pursued his Postgraduate Diploma and Msc in Land use planning at the Institute of Aerial Surveys (ITC) in the Netherlands. After his studies Dr. Kaswamila re-joined Mlingano Research Instutute till 2000 when he joined Mweka Wildlife College. In 2003, Dr. Kaswamila left for UK for Doctorate studies at the University of Greenwich and completed successfully in 2006. Dr. Kaswamila also holds a certificate and diploma in land use planning.

Dr. Kaswamila is mainly interested in three main areas, viz: wildlife corridor planning and management, conservation and development and conflict mitigation in protected area bio-networks. During his 20 years work experience, Dr. Kaswamila has managed to undertake various research and consultancy assignments. He has managed to publish several works in both local and international journals. Dr. Kaswamila is also a member of different professional bodies
